7 Steps to a Healthier Kitchen
One step at a time
Here we go
Let's start on down this list.
All items linked in this post are used in my home.
Number 1
1. The first item to consider is what you store your leftover or stored food in - glass is always the best option. But if you have plastic you are storing in, never put hot food into plastic and do not heat food in plastic.
Number 2
2. Coffee mugs is next on the list. When adding coffee or hot liquid to a mug make sure they are proper mugs. Ceramic paints can contain things like arsenic and lead. I use glass mugs with handles I bought second hand at 2 different thrift stores.
Number 3
3. Next up, dish ware. Bowls, plates, cups. I use only glass or stainless steel. Here is what I recently stocked my kitchen with, plates, bowls, and cups.
Number 4
4. Cooking/baking dishes also should be carefully considered. Use cast iron or stainless steel. If you have the coated bakeware such as Teflon, be sure it doesn’t have scratches. Try to ditch those items soon! Buy these instead.
Number 5
5. What are you using in your dish washer and on your dishes? Now is the time to make better choices, in dish detergents.
Number 6
6. Using bamboo or stainless steel utensils
Number 7
7. Flatware or silverware
