Let's start on down this list.
I use all the ideas and tips in this post to aid in my mental health. Learn more about my affiliate disclosure here.
Did you know?
We on average have between 60 and 17,000 thoughts everyday. Over 90% of those thoughts are the same thoughts you had yesterday. What are you thinking about? Are you talking kindly to yourself, to others? Are you ready to make better choices in your thoughts and thought processes?
Taking time to decompress from the day can help with sleep and overall health. I use this sound machine to create a nice quiet space to recharge.
Chanting/Mantra
As a family we chant every morning together. We also stretch to Winnie the Pooh's, Up, Down, Touch the Ground, song to get the blood moving through our bodies. The chanting is important to get breathe working through the body, and we all start the day on a similar vibration. It is a great way to connect for a few minutes every morning. My husband was raised with an SGI foundation, so nam myoho renge kyo is spoken often in our home.
Daily Rundown
I find, with my boys, our days are always easier and more fluid when we talk in the morning about what the day will bring. I have been doing this since my first was born, and can always tell a difference when I get out of the habit. Creating a list is also a good way to keep your day and thoughts organized. I am not a list maker, but hope to be one day!
Movement
Dance parties happen almost daily at our house. It is important to be silly and laugh, dancing is our go to. When weather doesn't allow outside time, dance is a great way to move energy in little and big people! Take time to turn on a song you love and move. Teach your kids to dance and feel confident in their skin. My boys also love cosmic yoga 🧘♂️ .
Food/Nutrition
Food intake, this is a big factor for everything, if you are not nourishing your body, you are not going to succeed. Our bodies are in constant conversation with us. Pain, sleep patterns, odors, overall health can mostly be attributed to what we eat. We all have a specific diet that is optimal for us, that can make it difficult to eat 'correctly' for you when you have to feed many different people (children, adults, elderly). Having whole food options throughout the day, and a meal where everyone sits together that was prepared for that purpose, is essential to health. We should eat as we breathe.
