MamaBear Plant Spotlight🌱

June 12th, my first sighting of Passionflower this year.

Passionflower

Passiflora incarnata

How it grows?

A vine that climbs up to 28ft, a leaf with 3 lobes and a very recognizable flower.

How it is used & other information

Has been used for many ailments for many years, I find the most powerful action to be its sedative nature. Other actions include tranquilizing & antispasmodic. These all are depressing on the system. Has been used to treat restlessness, anxiety, agitation, high blood pressure, headache, muscle cramps and many more.

Sounds pretty amazing, right?!

Passiflora is a friend and ally in our world right now. The need to be sedated and non agitated has never, in my lifetime, felt more needed. Take in her beauty and love.

Imagine going though the last year with a plant friend? Can you create that image?

A spirit of pure healing, plants are here for us to use. We must just ask. I made a tincture of Passionflower last year - and it has been a friend and constant in our house since then. The last 18 months have been wrought with fear and uncertainty. Passionflower reminded me of patience and tranquility.

Dream of plants again, inquire as to their knowledge! You might be surprised what you find!

Key constituents -

Maltol, flavonoids, cyanogenic glycosides and indole alkaloids (not conclusive)
