This is so important
Let's start with why it is so important.
Our bodies are made of water and tissue.
Purity
Since we are basically a giant balloon filled with water and tissue, it is time to start paying more attention to the water we put into our bodies. My journey learning about water was slow and I wish I would have taken it more seriously, sooner in life.
Now I make the best choices I can for my family.
It took many years to find clean water to drink, and then to bath and wash in. My son was, at least physically affected, by the water quality in our house.
We now have cleaner water, but it is so important to continue to be diligent.
There are many machines on the market to "clean" your water. I have wasted lots of money on filters that are supposed to help. It was a struggle being in a rental property and unable, financially, to put on a house water filter. But making your water supply a priority is so important. I implore you to start your path to cleaner water.
Our Drinking Water
I am very fortunate to have well water that is clean. I drink filtered water and Berkey filter is still my go to. My family has the imperial version with 4 people.
Shower/Bath Water
We would fill our bathtub with the shower head water, because we had a filter on it. We had lead contaminated water, and chlorine levels 3 times the average pool amount. If felt like the water was poisoning my son. We bought this filter and used on our shower. It did make a big difference during the time we used it.
Salt Filters
This is all my personal opinion and I have come to these conclusions from personal experience.
Salt filters caused so much more harm to my sons skin. It was almost immediate. I should have assumed more of a reactions, because he is so reactive to chlorine. But I do not believe a filter pushed through cheap salt, comes out clean.
Reverse Osmosis
This is a great way to clean your water. This is similar to a Berkey filter, in that it takes everything out of the water. It is important to get sufficient minerals when drinking ultra filtered water.
Counter Filters
I started my journey toward clean water with a Brita Filter, it was what I could afford at the time. If this is where you are, that is ok. We just have to make the best choice with the options we have!
Alkalizing Machines
One day I will buy a Kangen water machine. If I would not have spent money on a salt filter, I may have the extra money. But I will in time buy a Kangen machine. These are amazon compatibles, but they do not have as large of a range of pH's available.
So Many Options
There are so many filter options on the market it can be overwhelming. Take your time to make a decision and consult with others about their experiences. I never could have imagined our water in our house was harming my son. It was empowering to finally understand what was causing his issues, but still very much a struggle. It still is. We cannot go to places without bring our water....
